I'm 37, female. Post crown fitted to upper front central incisor snapped at gum line. I believe that it failed due to my bad overject/overbite, was advised that this was not the cause. 2 lower 1st molars extracted recently due to old infection. In order to make my teeth meet to chew, my lower jaw is forced back more than ever which causes strain on it. Will dental implant fail like the crown did? I was advised that orthodontics treatment is not necessary. Dental implant/other viable option?
We are sorry for what happened, to correct your bite the first step is to replace posterior teeth to increase the vertical dimension and correct the position of the mandible and maxilla. Once the occlusal problem is solved, we could analyze to do the anterior crown or if necessary, make an implant.
