I had a root canal on #30 and #31. Crown on #30 and had to wait on the other because of pregnancy. Fast forward- need #30 pulled before #31 crown. I was told there's bone loss for #30. Should I get an implant for #30 or a bridge since I need a crown? Or what would be the best option? We've spent over 4k (out of pocket) on 3 root canals and 2 crowns in the past 10 months. Thankful for any advice or course of action.
While more clinical and radiographic studies are necessary to determine the type of treatment, from what can be seen on the radiograph, it would be best to remove element 30 for periapical infection, keep in mind that the decision to perform an immediate implant after the removal of element 30 will depend on the amount of bone remaining. You will probably need a bone graft to maintain the bone level. The fact that you also need a crown in element 31 may be an advantage for the dental bridge option, but keep in mind that element 29 will have to be prepared to receive another crown to support the bridge. So the most conservative treatment would be to have an implant in 30 without affecting element 29.At Empower Your Smile, Dr. Bagga will be in charge of guiding you through this process and answering your questions.
